The Austin event will be starting earlier than the others. Instead of doors 7pm and event 8pm the doors will be open from 6.30pm and the event will begin at 7pm. Sorry for any confusion. If you know anyone who is coming to the Austin event please spread the word.

New York location finalised
March 5th, 2010Last night we were able to secure a great venue for the last ‘Insurrection’ event. We will be doing a smaller version the next afternoon with Revolution. But this will be the final evening event. As such it is sure to involve a bit of a party afterwards! The bar itself is nestled down a flight of stairs in the West Village. Its called Alibi and can be found on 116 MacDougal Street. If you are able to join us for the last Insurrection event then remember to register your interest on the facebook page so that we can have a rough idea of how many people are coming.
Boston – Location change
March 4th, 2010We have just secured a new venue of the Boston leg of the Insurrection tour as we were concerned that the original choice would not be big enough (we can but hope). So if you are joining us for the Boston gig take note that the new venue is Tommy Doyle’s at 1 Kendall Square. A map is available if you click on the Boston link to the left of this notice. And if you are going please remember to sign up to the Boston facebook page.
Thanks

New date added – Chicago!
March 3rd, 2010I am excited to announce a new date. we will be hitting Chicago on the 8th April. This last minute addition happened because of the enthusiasm and hard work of some people on the ground out there, people who wouldn’t take ‘we can’t possibly do it’ for an answer. We still have to finalise a venue, but we should have that sorted within the next week or two. If you fancy going please register on the facebook page. In fact each venue has its own facebook page and it would help us a lot if you registered for the event you are attending to give us a rough idea of numbers. You can find the page when you click on the relevent location to the left of this.
Thanks

Tour Visuals
March 3rd, 2010As part of the tour we will have some visuals (at least in the venues where we have a projector). These were created and donated by Bala Boyd of Gypsy House Productions. Just got the material through the door today and it looks great. check out one of his cinematic shorts in the ‘Related Stuff’ section of the site.
Film crew and dance party in Grand Rapids
March 3rd, 2010On the Grand Rapids stop we will be having a dance party after the main event. In addition to this there will be a professional film crew recording the evenings festivities. So hope you can join us for what promises to be a crazy, intense and fun-filled night of theology, live music and dancing!
Spreading the word
February 27th, 2010As we near the launch of the Insurrection tour things are slowly falling into place. But we really need your help. If you want to support us, one of the ways you can do that is by sending people over to this website, and encouraging them to register for one of the events.
There is no publicity machine behind this tour. It is totally grassroots and is relying on word of mouth. So, if you have twitter, facebook, a blog or even off-line relationships (I have heard they still exist in some areas) then I encourage you to spread the love.
Thanks
Welcome to the Insurrection
February 6th, 2010Congratulations! You have just found the new website offering details of the ‘Insurrection’ pub tour.
Each event will blend live music, storytelling and some incendiary theology with the express aim of turning the way we think about faith on its head (or rather, back onto its feet).
This is a grassroots tour that, from its very inception, has relied on the generosity of many people. At each location individuals have freely given their time and energy to book venues, arrange equipment, offer support on the night, provide beds for us to sleep in and spread the word.
In fact the message of the tour has already been embodied in the way that people have selflessly sacrificed to see this dream become a reality.
Due to the nature of the events we are not charging at the door. However, as you can imagine, there are a lot of costs. So, at the culmination of each evening, a hat will be passed around. If you support what we are doing then we are asking for a donation of $10. This alone will not cover all our costs, but we are hoping that some may be willing and able to give more (though I am afraid I can’t promise you prosperity in return).
If this is successful then we plan to do two more legs of the tour.
